Matt Calhoun was called to serve as First Baptist Church's Music Minister in August 2010. Prior to that, he served as Music Minister at Wyatt Park Baptist Church in St. Joseph, Missouri.

He graduated from the Conservatory of Music at The University of Missouri Kansas City in 2005 with a Bachelor of Arts in Music with a Vocal Emphasis.
Matt is married to Heather. They have seven children: Aidan, Jai, Tristan, Rylan, Liam, Beckham, and Henley.
