Welcome to First Denham!
Founded in 1900, First Baptist Church has been a part of the Denham Springs community for almost 120 years. Our commitment to sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ is stronger than ever and we are focused on making disciples who make disciples. You’ll find that First Denham is much more than a building. First Peter 2:5 describes what we truly are at First Denham, “…living stones…being built up as a spiritual house…” Our desire is to fulfill the Lord’s vision for this church to become a Regional Life Transformation Center. We believe God is doing something special here and we’d love for you to be a part of His work with us. If you have questions about any of the ministries of First Denham, we’d be more than happy to spend some time with you answering those questions and helping you to get connected. Our goal is to help every guest and member to connect in three ways: first to Christ, second to a small group, and third to a serving in a ministry. Welcome to First Denham!
First Things First...
We know that visiting a new place can be a little scary and so we want to do everything to ease your concerns before you even pull into the parking lot. Below you'll find information about where we're located, where to park, what our services are like, our small groups, what people wear, and our Kids and Student Ministries.
How About A Campus Map?
We've developed a printable map for you complete with icons to help you find your way around our facility. We know what it's like when you come to a new building and don't know where to go, so we hope this helps you find your way!
Where are You Located?
We're located at 27735 Louisiana Highway 16 in Denham Springs, Louisiana. If you have trouble finding us, just call 225-480-7076 and one of our pastors will be happy to help you find your way. When you arrive you'll find our parking lot with reserved guest parking. Once parked, you'll find our Guest Services team ready to help you find your way!
What are your Worship Services Like?
We have three Sunday Morning Worship options for our members and guests.
Our first service (8:15am) is our traditional time of worship and it is a mix of hymns, praise choruses, choral anthems, and special music.
Our second and third services (9:30 & 11am) are our modern times of worship. The atmosphere is laid-back, but still focused on scriptural truth and honest worship. Modern worship songs together with classic hymns are led by our praise team and band.
If you'd like to learn more about our worship services, contact Matt Calhoun and he'll gladly answer any questions you may have.
What about Small Groups?
Being in a small group (Connect Group) is one of the easiest ways to connect to First Denham. It is here that you begin to build friendships and to grow in your faith. We have many great options available for you on Sunday mornings during our 8:15 am session or at our 9:30 am session. We use curriculum that is theologically conservative, biblically accurate, and Christ-centered. It is important to us to focus on connecting everyone to a group as soon as possible. We think you’ll find church is much more enjoyable when you’re in a small group. If you’d like to learn more about small groups, contact Paul Keating and he’ll gladly help you find a group you can connect to right away.
What Do People Wear?
This is always a big question. At First Denham you will see people dressed in suits and ties, jeans and polos, and shorts and t-shirts. Dress is not a concern here. We just want you here worshiping our God with us!
What About Childcare and Nursery?
We have an incredible Kid's Ministry that both kids and parents will love! For the safety of our children, we offer a secure electronic check-in system. If you are visiting First Denham for the first time, please plan to come a little early to register your child in the system. Registration is available for first-time guests right outside our secure Kids space and only takes a few minutes of your time! Our nursery is staffed with screened, experienced, caring workers and volunteers! If you'd like to learn more about our Kid's Ministry, contact Niki Allen and she'll gladly answer any questions you may have.
Where Will My Student Be?
Our student ministry is located in our Family Life Center. We have great leaders who love students (6th grade-12th grade) and are committed to helping them develop into fully devoted followers of Christ. If you'd like to learn more about our student ministry, contact Ben Dyer and he'll gladly answer any questions you may have.
